POSTER DESIGN | ‘BOAT BOY’ SHORT FILM

The producers of the ‘Boat Boy’ approached me for a film poster to capture the story and nuance of the short film. The film is based on true events and tells the coming of age story of a teenage boy working as Lord Louis Mountbatten’s boat boy. It is said that a film poster only has a couple of seconds to make an impression, and with that in mind, it was important to tell the key parts of the narrative in the poster design. With the use of only a few key elements, the poster successful conveys the film’s Irish setting, its main protagonist and its key location (Lord Mountbatten’s boat).
